Michael Scoggins (B.1973) is well known for his childish drawings on enlarged pieces of notebook paper. Scoggins uses nostalgically familiar materials such as pencils, crayons, markers, and colored pencils to draw superheroes or deliver messages from his young persona, ‘Michael S.’ The themes represented in his work vary from heart-felt letters to family members to social issues regarding politics or religion, urging viewers to try regarding the world from the perspective of a young child.

Michael Scoggins majored in studio art and politics at Mary Washington College and earned a master's degree in painting at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Since his first solo show in 2003, he has gained the attention of countless collectors across the globe. His works have been collected by prestigious institutions such as MoMA in New York, the Hammer Museum in LA, and the Telfair Museum of Art in Savannah.

Savannah College of Art and Design에서 회화전공으로 석사학위를 받았다.
