Taylor White (B.1978) is an American artist whose work often oscillates between abstraction and figuration, and painting and sculpture. He uses a broad range of media and various textile materials throughout his work. He is known for creating paintings and objects that originate with self-imposed restrictive challenges, and he often works with themes that can feel like a sardonic or humorous exaggeration of the simplicity of human perception and existence.
After nearly a decade in the Marines, Taylor went to the University of Mary Washington and earned a degree in Studio Art. He has attended numerous residencies in New York City, Madrid, and Berlin, and is represented by galleries in the US, Germany, and Korea, Most recently, Taylor has exhibited in Los Angeles and at the Armory Show, with Roberts Projects, and in Murnau, Germany with Pulpo Gallery.
